Recommendations for a residence in Florence for 5 adults?

Hi, my family and I are planning to stay in Florence for about two weeks in July and are finding it very hard to find a place for 5 adults to stay in the same residence. We would rather not stay in a hotel as they only offer 4 people maximum then we would have to get 2 hotel rooms, and prefer not to. Can anyone recommend a residence where 5 adults can stay, with a kitchen and within walking distance from the train station?
Our budget is maximum 250 per night
Thank you!

Jen,

You should look into renting an apartment using search sites such as VRBO, or AirBnb. Also, you'll get more responses if you post your question under the Destination Q&A catagory instead of hotel and restaurant reviews.

Jen, you would love the apartment we stayed at. It is in a palazzo (first floor) across from a famous palazzo and is pure elegance. There are 3 bedrooms and it sleeps up to 9 so you will have plenty of room and it is air conditioned (a MUST in Italy in July). I can't really even explain how stunning and elegant this quiet place is- be sure to look at all of the photos in the photo show at the link I am posting below. It is central to everything, has all sorts of shops, restaurants, stores (like groceries) and attractions within walking distance and close to the bus and train. The apartment costs around $180 a night and the owner is a sweetheart who is hands-on and will help you any way possible. The decoration is breathtaking- the walls have paintings and frescoes that look like Michelangelo might have done them or perhaps Raphael. The furnishings look like they ought to be in a palace. You will feel royal. I love the huge bathrooms- more spacious than anything I have seen in Florence (and I have lived there!). The kitchen is lovely too. You won't want to leave. Also, if you book and pay on Tripadvisor, you will receive the free insurance package that will return all you paid if there is a problem. You can rest easy but you get that only if you book it on Tripadvisor.

We stayed in an apartment in Palazzo Alfani al David in Florence last year for 5 nights. It's directly across the street from the Accademia so we could see the lines waiting for David early in the morning. Clean, comfortable, Francesca who was our host, was wonderful and the price was right. We recommend it highly.
