I am wondering if anyone has stayed at Villa Argentieri and what this hotel is like. I originally booked Hotel Steno for my husband and myself, but am worried about climbing the hill a few times a day as I am having hip replacement surgery in the fall. Both accommodations are recommended by Rick Steves but am hoping someone will have a bit of extra advice/information for us. I also tried Hotel Pasquale, but there is no availability. :( There is also quite a difference in price, Villa A is 250 Euros with a view whereas Hotel Steno is 330. I would appreciate any information you can share.

I haven't stayed there but I'm sure I walked by it many times going to a property farther out in New Town. In addition to an ocean view, you have the advantage of being near the train station. The downside is that it's a bit of a walk to the Old Town - but at least it's level ground.

Thanks so much. That's our dilemma as we prefer to stay in the "old town" section of towns when travelling.
