On a recent trip to Italy we stayed at Ponte per Venezia Bed and Breakfast; it is just 20 minutes by train from Venice in the non-touristic, beautiful little town of Mogliano. It was a wonderful introduction to Italy.
Our hosts, Valerio and Gabriela were just lovely. They went out of their way to help us have a wonderful time. Valerio picked us up at Venice's Marco Polo airport and proceeded to show us around town. He helped us in so many ways and was very sensitive to our needs.
The accommodations were clean and beautiful. The train station is nearby; the train ride takes you into the heart of Venice in 20 minutes. By the end of the day in Venice, it was a relief to return to this beautiful little town to rest. The price was very reasonable.
