Back from Sicily end of Oct.
Gagni $$$$
Rick's pick for a splurge was right on. It was a Michelin star restaurant portions very small
and very good. It starts at 3 courses for $90. and goes up from there.
We enjoyed Buatta Cucina Popolana. $$$ Atmosphere was pleasant and the food very good
and reasonably priced made for enjoyable evening.
Hi. I'm going to be in Palermo in May, as part of an Odysseys Unlimited Tour. I was thinking of Buatta Cucina Popolana since it's recommended by RS. However, reviews on Trip Advisor were very, very, mixed with some truly terrible reviews particularly about the service. Although I don't take online reviews as Gospel, I looked at other RS-recommended restaurants. One was Bisso Bistrot, which got much more consistently good reviews. The only bad reviews spoke about how locals were strongly favored over tourists, which is a selling point for me, especially since I can speak more than a little Italian and that usually warms people's hearts. I was also interested in a wine bar, Dal Barone which everyone seems to love. Have you been to Bisso Bistrot or Dal Barone? Can you recommend others? We are also planning to take an evening street food tour which should be lots of fun. Thanks
