Four Palermo experiences. 1). Went to Capella Palatina, beautiful--but be sure to get everything out of your pockets when they do the inspection; I didn't understand and guard was a bit aggressive as he searched me, 2). Ristorante Spono--in Lonely Planet--is excellent, especially the bream (orata). But keep track of what you ordered because the one waitress who was very busy mixed some things up. 3). Palazzo Pantaleo, small B&B, has beautiful rooms, very quiet, nice location, can walk to a lot of places. Make sure you get really clear on the different locks and doors because things are closed after 8PM, and alarmed for a few minutes before I figure what to do. 4). Using google maps (but not "live"), I walked from B&B to Spano. I got a lot of practice saying Dove via ---and got lost over and over. There are almost no street signs. So enjoy getting lost if you like, but bring GPS so you can find what you want whenyou're ready.
