Train or bus? What is the least complicated and shortest way?
Rome2rio.com shows the train at almost five hours and bus at five hours plus. Bus is cheaper, but if it were me I'd take the train.
thanks for the reply. Can anyone wade in? The best I can find is 2 transfers. Some of the transfers are really quick. My question is if we miss the train, is our ticket good for the next one on that day? We are needing to get to Sorrento after Naple, it seems there is no easy way to do this.
Thank you.
Unfortunately, I think you are correct that there is no easy way. I guess it depends on how desperate you are. There is a direct train from Taranto to Naples mid morning with no changes. You could take an hour's taxi ride from Ostuni to Taranto to catch that train. Rome2rio estimates $80-100 for that ride.
By Train, you probably need to catch a local train Ostuni to Bari, then the Frecciargento as far as Caserta before taking a local train to Naples (There are, as far as I am aware, no direct fast trains from Puglia to Naples)
