Orvieto Agriturismo

Antica Olivaia is a beautiful, well-maintained farmhouse-turned-guest house a very short car ride outside the breathtaking town of Orvieto. Daniela and Marco are wonderful hosts and generous with information about the area and with their culinary skills! Their excitement about the people who farm and create local delicacies is contagious. The personalized attention made us feel so special after spending nights in large hotels in Rome! The rooms are clean and comfortable and have magnificent views of the rolling countryside. Yes, they have wifi. We were there in winter so could not take advantage of their beautiful outdoor pool! Oh yes, they both speak good English- a big help to us first time travelers to Italy who are just starting to learn Italian!

We are booked in this coming May. Based on the reviews we are really looking forward to our stay and meeting Daniela and Marco. Is anyone able to tell me the average cost of the evening meal Marco prepares for his guests? It is my understanding he does this a few times/week and I just want to budget accordingly.
Thank you,
JoAnn

Drop them an e-mail to see when they will be cooking evening meals when you are there. I think it is generally 2-3 times a week. Our meals were 30 Euro a person and a more elaborate New Years Eve meal was 50 Euro a person. They are also very helpful in recommending fantastic restaurants in Orvieto as they know all of the proprietors!

We are reserved for a six-day stay there in September and have received an email from them stating that they cook three times a week -- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. They state that the charge for these meals is 25-30 Euro per person and that the prix fixe meals include 3-4 courses with local wine, water, coffee and limoncello.

It sounds lovely. Getting personalized attention and a warm welcome can make a trip into something wonderful. What sort of foods did you have while staying there?

Thank you for the information on the cost of meals. I have been corresponding with the owners but they didn't send any information except to say they do provide meals a few times per week. We are really looking forward to our visit and touring the Umbria and Tuscany countryside.

Thanks again,
JoAnn

I made a reservation for late September and they told me that they served on that Sat night that we will be there and the cost is $30 per person for the meal. So looking forward to this.
