My plans have changed and I am looking for an apartment for 3. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
If someone doesn't mind sleeper sofa we had a very nice stay in this apartment in May. The sleeper sofa is that kind of foam block version not a true mattress.
There are two full baths, one on the first floor on the same level as kitchen, dining, living (with the sofa bed) and one upstairs (with the king bed). The photos are all very accurate. The entrance to the apartment is up about three flights of stairs in the building to the first floor of the apartment and the stairs inside the apartment to the bedroom are steep. So might not be good if you have any mobility issues.
If you didn't want a sofa bed, and your budget is flexible, the same owner also has the apartment next door and there is a separate door that can close to the hallway and keep open the doors between the two apartments. We didn't see the inside but the name was on the door, so I believe it is this one.
I think they are also both on booking.com if you prefer that platform.
Hello and thank you for your prompt reply. Those look wonderful but they are booked for the dates we need.
You might look into the host profile on AirBnB. It shows he has 48 properties. I was clear ours was managed by a separate management company. For example there was a little welcome kit for us with salt, pepper, small bottle of olive oil with the management company name on it (Sudest).
I have made some inquiries, but nothing yet.
In 2019 a friend and I stayed at this apartment, https://www.airbnb.com/slink/aOLsk3Aj. in Ortigia. It was well located, not far from the Temple of Apollo, up one flight of stairs. Not far from the sea but no views of the sea. One bedroom with queen bed and one sofabed in living room, one bathroom. We were happy with it.
Thank you for your link. They are booked too.
48 properties? Wow, talk about AirBnb damage to the local real estate market. Soon there will be no "locals" to "live like."
Agreed. A worldwide issue. Personally, I prefer a hotel but with 2 adults kids, this will work better.
…. look into the host profile on AirBnB. It shows he has 48 properties.
Similar situation to the Barcelona thread the other day. These “hosts” are not hosts. They are investors that poach real estate from the availability of families and students to live in town. And likely live in another country. Of course that is a broad generalization and some AirBnB’s are owned by lovely folks, but I’m guessing that is in the minority. I do not stay at Air’s because of this.
You might want to see if Hotel Gutkowski could meet your needs, if you like hotels. We stayed in a plus room that had a bedroom and sitting room with a single day bed. It was not a lot of privacy, but certainly great space. As well they had a nice sitting room downstairs, a rooftop terrace with ocean views and breakfast. And a kettle, tea etc.
I believe they may also have an apartment available.
