Need suggestions for good hotels in the Pistoia and Calabria regions of Italy. We stayed at the 501 Hotel near Mileto and it was great but that was about 12 years ago.

Since Rick doesn't have any recommendations for those areas, I'd try a Lonely Planet guidebook or online booking sites like www.hotels.com or www.agritourismo.it (especially for farm stays). You can check locations and driving directions on a Google map or www.viamichelin.com.

Try Trip Advisor.com. My wife and I stayed at a Pistoia center city apartment named Virginia for a week last July and found it worked really well for us.
