Naples Hotels Near Archeological Museum

We are traveling to Naples in September for a few days and would like a nice hotel near the archeological museum. We would prefer a hotel over a B & B. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are some hotel names near the Archaeological Museum in Naples:

Recommended Hotels:
• Hotel Piazza Bellini
• Palazzo Caracciolo Naples
• Hotel NH Napoli Panorama
• Smart Hotel Napoli
• Starhotels Terminus
• UNA Hotels Napoli
• Decumani Hotel de Charme
• Culture Hotel Centro Storico
• Renaissance Naples Hotel Mediterraneo
• Hotel San Francesco al Monte

These give you options from budget to nicer stays within easy reach of the museum.

We stayed at the Hotel Piazza Bellini last month, and highly recommend it. It’s located straight south of the Archaeological Museum on Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, and it’s also close to several excellent restaurants (for seafood, we went twice to Sottocoperta), as well as the Dante Metro stop. It is a proper hotel, with exceptionally helpful front desk staff, but it also includes a fantastic breakfast.

Another fan of Hotel Piazza Bellini. We’ve stayed there twice and have loved it both times. The service is excellent and the generous breakfasts are topnotch.

Our second visit was during the period of pandemic time when we still needed to get PCR tests to return home to the US and breakfast was a bit more restrained but their service was second to none one.

We also had a nice stay at the Piazza Bellini . They suggested a place for pizza, that was a couple of blocks away (sort of a right outside their front door.). It was fantastic. Sorry I don't remember the name. At least I tried!

We also loved the Bellini, and will stay there should we ever be fortunate enough to visit Naples again.

We stayed at the Hotel Piazza Bellini for 2 nights this week, based on past reviews from RS forum. The hotel is close to the museum, as per your question. The little courtyard is nice and breakfast mediocre. Staff generally friendly. However, the bed was hard and the 2 chairs in the room were acrylic. Our room overlooked the very loud street(room 101). The temperature was in the ‘70’s during the day and our room was stuffy - when we attempted to turn on our room AC we were told that we couldn’t use it b/c the heat was on for the hotel. (!) and all they could do was turn it off to our room. The neighborhood is unsightly due to trash and graffiti. Would not recommend this hotel.

Sandy, I was surprised you had such a strong reaction to the hotel. I recall I had a little culture shock when we arrived Naples to the Bellini Hotel and its neighborhood. We happened to arrive on a Sunday, so I'm sure trash day was Monday, and I think there is just lots of graffiti in Naples. Many like it. I enjoyed the city and its edginess and thought it felt authentic. Did you like the rest of Naples, and just disliked the neighborhood that Bellini was in? We all like different places for different reasons. I recall Rick Steves saying that if Rome is too much, don't venture any further south in Italy.

I'm also surprised by the reaction of the breakfast. We thought the buffet was huge and it was refilled frequently. First, I thought maybe you were there during a slower time so the buffet wasn't refreshed enough, but then I remembered that we were in Naples in February.

Oh, and Italy has laws about when heat can be turned off/on and when AC can be started for the season. A little strange, I know.

I hope the rest of your trip was more to your liking.
