Naples Hotel Suggestion for Solo Female Traveler

Taking train from Rome to Naples at end of October for two days, 1-night. Going to visit the Archaeological Museum in Naples on a Monday afternoon, and then the next morning (Tuesday) taking the Circumvesuviana train to/from Pompeii and Herculaneum back to Naples and returning to Rome by train that early evening. Considering the short amount of time, schlepping and securing bags, and number of train trips, wondering whether to get hotel near the Naples central train station or elsewhere. Tried to book Hotel Piazza Bellini near the Archaeological Museum, but nothing available for just one night (minimum 2- or 3-night stays). Now looking for someplace else and thought I'd check with you all for recommendations.

We stayed at Chiaja Hotel de Charme in a central upscale touristy area. Very nice, great brfast.
If u decide to stay there u will need to take taxis to an from train station and Archaelogical museum.
Be aware that area around train station is gritty and pickpockets are espec. there. Be vigilant of course anywhere in Naples. But Naples has alot to,offer the sightseer for sure.
I stayed away from Naples for a long time becuz of grittiness. But i am so glad I finally went.

We stayed near the seafront in Chiaia neighborhood and we're pleased with our hotel Palazzo Alabardieri. It is a less gritty area of the city, lots going on. There is a nice pedestrian only walk along the waterfront.

Just got back from Naples last week, and though I do not have a hotel recommendation for you, I want you to know that as a solo female I felt completely safe in this town. Of course, as in any big city, you need to be situationally aware, but I was surprised at how much I loved Naples. The metro is beautiful and easy to use- be sure to check out the commissioned art in the metro! I enjoyed walking down Via Toledo to Via Chiaia - this is a major shopping street. But it's passeggiata all day long and there's excellent gelato at Casa Infante! I stayed at the Exe Majestic, which is too far away for your itinerary. I took a cab to the train station for 13 euros the day I left.

The Archaeological Museum is stunning, mind-boggling. You will love it. I also recommend the Sansevero Chapel for the veiled Christ. If you're looking for a good meal while visiting the Archaeological Museum, you can walk a few blocks to L'Etto (look on googlemaps) for delicious food (it's a buffet) that a local recommended to me. Delicious. But since you're there only one night - you have to have pizza. It is truly different than anywhere else. Delicious!

When on the Circumvesuviana, just be aware. Don't be afraid. I mean people use this every day as a commuter train. We traveled from Sorrento to Pompeii on the Circumvesuviana.

Have a fantastic time!
