Wonderful place to stay, highlight of 3 weeks stay in Italy! Less than 5 minute walk from train, this B&B is ideally situated inside a lovely garden with lemon trees, away from busy main street and noise. Rooms very clean, newly renovated with ensuite bath. Fresh lemons were on the table beside the tea. There’s also a separate guest house apartment good for families.
The special feature of Antonella’s is the staff, including her 2 dughters. Their helpfulness, care and attention to detail were very welcoming! Antonella’s daughter, Guilia, walked down to meet me. Her English is excellent. She had prepared a packet for me with trail maps, train info, etc. and made recommendations about which trails for specific parts of the day, and boat, train, bus options. She even inquired about a Feast Day (May 29th) procession for me that the Tourist Info did not know about. The procession on carpet of flowers was unique, and timing changed due to weather, but she updated me.
There is a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the garden where you can read, appreciate a glass of wine before dinner or coffee/tea after. Crystal wine glasses appeared, as did an umbrella when it rained. Laundry was possible and there was a clothes line outside. Nice. The restaurant recommendations were great! Anchovies, pesto and walnut sauce were highlights. They checked in with me every day and advised me to stay off the walking paths the day it rained. Giulia gave me many other suggestions for more walks and to wander further than the 5 Lands and left me wanting to return for a longer visit. I was there 4 nights, visited the 5 villages plus Volastra. Monterosso seems a ideal place to stay to cover the area and perhaps also go to Levanto and Portovenere. I wish Antonella the best with her new B&B and I think Monterosso and Cinque Terre will only benefit
