Hello everyone -
Does anyone have experience using the Monastery Stays website to book a room in Rome or other parts of Italy? Are they reliable and do they process the booking promptly?
Thank you
I used them for 4 stays this spring. Absolutely no problems with them. One thing that was inaccurate was that the places took creidit cards in all cases and not just cash.
In Rome we stayed at Casa Maria Immacolata. Excellent
Yup, they're good - do keep an eye out for email from them. After you put in a request for lodging, they check with the place, and if there's nothing available, they'll ask you to make second and third choices. You are prompted to log in in order to check the messages and respond to them. Once the reservations are final, they produce a letter with all the details of the reservation that you take with you and show at the accommodation.
I booked through them two years ago. Stayed at Casa Santa Lucia Filippini in Rome. Everything was great and it was in an excellent location. It even had a mini fridge in the room.
Thank you for all the replies. I just booked with them. Easy, but I did have to go threw the second choice process.
I second the caution about checking to see if they accept credit cards. Many of the houses are cash only.
I think you may have misunderstood me. Each of the places I stayed DID accept credit cards, even though the info I was given from Monasterystays.com said it was cash only.
Oh, yes, I am sorry, I did misunderstand. Thank you that clarification and that is good news.
