Milan Restaurant for a 70th Birthday

Hi -- My wife is turning 70 while we will be in Milan and I'm looking for a special occasion restaurant. Two caveats -- we will not have super dressy clothing since we will have been travelling around for a while. And I'd rather not spend an "arm & a leg" -- maybe just an arm.

Any help would be appreciated.

We usually stay at the Hotel Berna and a couple of streets away is Mamma Rosa https://osteriamammarosa.it/ where we have had many lovely evenings. It is nice but not fancy. My “dress pants” are dark jeans, and no one looks askance. Kind service, excellent food, a pretty dining room: classic.

I agree with Laurel. We have stayed at Hotel Berna twice and have eaten at Osteria Mamma Rosa both times. Very friendly service. Nice selection on the menu. We also ate both times at Osteria Fara and enjoyed eating al fresco in their courtyard. Wonderful Italian food and many options for me as a vegetarian. Both restaurants are within walking distance to Hotel Berna and were recommended by their staff. We did not dress up and felt comfortable in our travel clothes. Prices are reasonable.
