We are New Yorkers and when traveling like to stay in hotels/ B&B's/Air B&B 's where we can walk most places and central to the main square.
Any suggestions for Milan?
Many thanks!

I am a New Yorker too and I traveled to Italy quite often and these two airbnbs are excellent options you will find in Milan and both are centrally located so it would fit what you are looking for. The prices are reasonable too.
Thank you so much for the suggestions! Any others as far as good local eats, etc is appreciated!
Look at Antica Locanda Leonardo, near Cadorna Station and "The Last Supper." Walkable to duomo or take a tram. Many neighborhood restaurants
We stayed at Hotel Gran Duca di York. It was easy walking distance to the Duomo and served a great breakfast. Found it through the RS book. Will have to check my journal for restaurants we ate at so I’ll PM you when I have the info.
Thank you!
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Garda near Milano Centrale. You can easily get to the historic center via Metro or tram.
Hotel Berna, across the street from Hotel Garda, is also popular with many here on this forum.
BTW, if you’re interested in seeing Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper”, make sure you book your tickets three months in advance.
Have a wonderful trip!
May 2019 we stayed two nights in Milan at Hotel Gran Duca di York after RS Village Italy tour. It was a perfect location for our purpose of walking to Milan Doumo and Leonardo do Vinci "Last Supper". Manager arranged perfect ride to Milan airport the day we departed. We highly recommend Milan Hotel Gran Duca di York. Also enjoyed terrific museum next to hotel, Pinacoteca Amborsiana.
Yes we also stayed at the Hotel Gran Duca du York, very close to Duomo, but quiet street- small classy hotel, FABULOUS breakfast!! Modern stylish and tasteful rooms, free minibar as I remember, excellent bathroom with great rain shower, good staff, worth the price which was good for the caliber and location. Walking distance to Duomo, shopping, Opera and connecting with buses to other sights like Sforza castle - don’t miss it- so wonderful inside- and of course the Last Supper..
enjoy!
We have made reservations to stay at Hotel Grand Duca Di York when we finish the Village of Italy tour in May (tour starts 4/27/19). Charlotte could you please send me your restaurant recommendations. Also it looks like quite a few people who have responded on her stayed there also. Glad to see good reviews. Anyone else with recommendations please chime in.
