Hi, I am a solo traveler and will be in Milan for 3 nights this October. I've checked with Hotel Garda, Hotel Berna, and Hotel Aosta. Garda and Berna show rates around 270 a night. I've booked a Rick Steve's hotel in Rome for $131 a night. Hoping to find a hotel more reasonable. Aosta might be an option, I am waiting to hear back from the hotels regarding other options. Does anyone have another recommendation for hotels in this area? Lynne
I am also a solo traveler spending a few nights in Milan in October-- 2 nights at the start of my trip and then 1 night two weeks later at the end. Even booking a couple months ago, it took much time to find places in that price range so I sympathize. I found that prices for the same hotel often varied widely for different days. For my last night, Hotel Garda offered a good discount deal if you pay cash. In addition to the hotels you already menioned, others near Central Station that I found mentioned on this forum were an IBIS and a Best Western.
For my first 2 nights, I am staying near Cadorna station at the Cadorna Luxury Hotel for E 140 per night. I don't know anyone who has stayed there so I am only going on the reveiws.
You may be overlapping with Fashion Week in October, hence the price increase. Good luck!
We were in Milan in May of this year. I had the same problem finding a hotel near Milano Centrale at a reasonable price. We booked with B&B Hotel Milano Centrale for 152 euro per night for two nights. The hotel was a great location, the room was just fine and comfortable and we liked the breakfast. It may not have been in Rick's book but I would stay there again.
Look at Antica Locanda Leonardo, nice rooms, a garden in the rear. We have stayed there twice.
