Me Cumpari Turridu

Stanley Tucci and RS are right—Me Cumpari Turiddu is a very good restaurant. Traditional presentations of classic Sicilian cuisine like Regusa cheeses with honey and jam, pasta with capers and anchovies, schibeci, selezioni dei salumi , a simple green salad, and of course donkey, were complimented nicely by inexpensive wines by the glass (although pricier bottles are also ;available) and a blond Sicilian beer. They are happy to serve half-portions (at 70% of the cost of a regular portion). This allowed us to try appetizers as well as first and second courses. I passed on the donkey; my husband thought it was nothing special. Despite Stanley’s review, and being cooked very rare, it was tough. Desserts looked good, but we were too full to go there. Total cost for all of the above was 88 Euros. Again, not cheap, but very reasonable considering the quality, selection, and portion sizes. Service was friendly and efficient. We’d go back.
