Marriotts in Venice and rome

The 2 IN Rome are both category 9 - lots o points - 45k a night. They are both exceptional properties - one is from the Autograph Collection. There is a Courtyard a ways out - 45 minutes by train & metro and a 4th out by FCO.

Venice has an Autograph Collection Property as well and a JW Marriott Resort & Spa that is on its own island - 20 minutes by boat to St. Mark's Sq. Again exceptional properties - category 8 & 9. There is a Courtyard near the airport - category 7.

Either way - I hope you have a ton of points. If you do - don't forget to check out the packages that include air miles.

Thank you! I have loads of points so we are definitely going to splurge this trip. We will stay in one of the main ones in Rome but still torn on the Venice ones. I know they are a little out of the way from what I've heard...not sure what makes the most sense!

The Boscolo Venezia Autograph Collection in Venice is a bit out of the way but not too bad - about an 8 minute walk to the Grand Canal.

The Boscolo Venezia location is quite nice--- quiet and uncrowded. We used to walk up there almost every day for my husband to swim at the community pool, and I really enjoyed the peace, as compared to the San Marco area.

Any hotel that is on Venice Island would be a good location. When you have to commute back and forth from the outlying minor islands is where you start wasting time.

As long as hotel points work to make your vacation more enjoyable then definitely go for it! But if you have to start adding complexity in order to make your points work then forget about them. Enjoying your vacation is much more important than forcing your vacation to be built around where your hotel points can be used.
