Going to be taking a train from Venice to Florence and thought it might be nice to have quick stopover in Bologna for lunch. Does anyone have any recommendations?

For fine dining I recommend L'Arcimboldo. About 15 minutes walk from the train station. A bit farther near old town center try Simoni. We had excellent lunches at both last September.

We enjoyed two dinners at Ristorante de Cesari. Traditional ambiance, delicious food. They open at 12:30pm as of now. Highly recommend it!

We found fantastic places on our week in Bologna this past September, but we were chiefly on the south end of town, not ideal for a quick stopover with the station being on the northwest corner of the city. Wherever you pick to try, reconfirm what days they’re open, so you’ll know they will work for your lunch stopover.
