looking for hotel in Sorrento in November

Hello,
I am coming across the hotel that have suggested in the book & on other thread are fully booked/hotels closed for the winter. I'll be in Sorrento area November 22-25, 2016 looking for a nice hotel $125 a night or so, but willing to pay more. Any other suggestions.

I find booking.com to be safe and reliable for booking hotels. You can "shop" for hotels, read reviews, choose a room, and cancel later if necessary. Some rooms (the least expensive) come with a "no refund" warning, so read descriptions carefully.

Hotel Minerva was fabulous and easy to walk into town - the terrace overlooking the city was lovely !

You may get more input if you post in Italy - this section is for reviews of places AFTER you travel.

Not sure what your expectations are for "nice," but a couple of years ago we enjoyed our stay at the Ulisse Deluxe. Although it is classified as a hostel because of a few dorm-like rooms, most of it is a nice but inexpensive hotel. The location is great, just minutes off the main part of town, and a short (but steep) walk down to the beach. I see we paid €80 per night. Our only complaint was they would not honor the deal in the then-current RS book that said breakfast would be included in the price. We were told if we wanted breakfast, it would be an extra €10. But the rooms were fine and the public areas were beautiful. Be sure to ask for the Rick Steves rate if you try to book a room.

We stayed in the Hotel Michelangelo several years ago and it was very nice. We were with a tour group and had a lovely time....breakfast was included for our group, and it was standard...hardboiled eggs, fruits, yogurt, juices, pastries, coffee/tea. The rooms were small, but very clean and functional. We were on the 5th floor with an elevator, so at the top you could look out to the water.

Last year, we went with my son and his girlfriend and stayed in a Bed and Breakfast called Villa Monica....awesome. A bit away from town up on the hill, but the views were awesome and they had a very nice patio that you could sit out on in the evening. We met really nice people there who stay there every year - and one of the woman graduated from the same high school as my husband and I in Salem, Massachusetts. Turns out, we had a lot in common.

The owners of Villa Monica could not have been nicer, and the owner drives into town when you need to go...there is a schedule, but he is very flexible. Actually, having stayed two or three blocks from the main square at the hotel, and then up on the hill at the B&B, I would take the B&B again. The breakfasts were great, it was quiet, and the views spectacular. Try either of them....you won't go wrong.

I would second Ulisse Deluxe. We've stayed there twice and like it very much. It's clean, well-located, large rooms, and helpful staff. We didn't have breakfast there during either stay because we enjoy going to small cafes and watching the world go by while enjoying our capuccini. Buon viaggio!

We just spent 5 days at Settimo Cielo overlooking Marina Grande. The views are spectacular and the walk to town is about 15 minutes or less. It is just below Hotel Minerva and a lot less money. Rooms are clean, big but simple. Good breakfast, owner manager and have negotiated a much lower cab rate to & from the hotel than you get anywhere else. They were well within your nightly budget for the 5 nights. No dinner on site. For a special night out, we recommend Donna Sophia. Restaurant dedicated to Sophia Loren, they pick you up and bring you back for no charge. The food & service are great, moderately priced, and the ride to the restaurant is memorable.
