I saw recommendations for this hotel in Rome on this forum at earlier time. but then saw poor reviews on trip advisor. Anyone stayed here?

It gets good ratings on booking.com but see what you mean on Trip Advisor. The pictures were pretty compelling. Everyone seems to be raving about the Hotel Smeraldo on the Italy board. Haven't stayed there, so you might check it out.

If you are still looking for a place check out Charme n Chic. Big modern rooms, large bathrooms, and the tvs have Netflix in case of rainy day or late night movie watching. Great breakfast included as well. https://charmechic.com/
Great area, restaurants and shopping galore and by Spanish Steps, etc.
