We are traveling to Venice in late October (2nd trip to that city) and wanted to travel to some of the outer islands that we had not stopped at on our previous trip to Venice a couple of years ago. We were going to travel out to Lido (and Guidecca) for a day trip on one of the days that we are there. The newest RS Venice guide book has some food/restaurant suggestions for Guidecca, but none for Lido. Does anyone have any suggestions for food/restaurants, especially for mid-day on Lido?
Personal opinion only, but Lido really does not have much of interest. Similarly Guidecca, although it does have a great choice of restaurants on the canal side.
We accidentally ended up in Lido because I read the schedules wrong. We walked to the beach which was fun but then decided to get dinner there. Only restaurants we could find were on main street and nothing struck us as great. We ate but would not necessarily recommend.
No personal experience, but an American who lives in Venice recommended this website for where to eat and drink on the Lido :
If you can, you might want to move this question to Italy instead of Italy Reviews --- more people will see it.
We enjoyed La Palanca on the Giudecca a lot, even though we ate indoors instead of out on the water with the view.
