Le Casine di Castello (Castelmuzio near Pienza)

Six years ago we spent a fabulous week enjoying the Moricciani family's hospitality at Cretaiole. The day we left we vowed to return. We were fortunate enough to do so this past June for another week-long stay.. This time we chose the Il Nido apartment at Le Casine di Castello in the lovely little village of Castelmuzio. From the moment we arrived and were warmly welcomed by Claudia, we felt at home! The apartment is lovingly restored in a 19th century building in the heart of the village. The attention to detail displayed by Isabella is beyond amazing....everything was perfect from the fully stocked Tuscan kitchen to the romantic bedroom and large modern bathroom to the peaceful courtyard garden. We could not have asked for tour of the family-owned Etruscan ruins, which are located outside the city walls of Pienza. And no visit more. Beyond the charm and comfort of Il Nido, we had the pleasure of visiting the Moricciani family farm where Luciano and Carlotta shared their Tuscan way of life with us. We also joined Carlotta for a fascinating would be complete without taking part in Isabella's pici making class and dinner a Cretaiole. The warmth and hospitality shared by the entire family, coupled with the opportunity to meet a diverse group of other guests, made this an unforgettable experience. And, yes, we have vowed to return!
