I highly recommend Agriturismo Tre Stelle in Barbaresco. Wonderful location among the vineyards and hills, great views, private balconies, helpful hosts - couldn't ask for more. It is a small winery, as well, and Michele usually gives guests a tour and a tasting. Two restaurants not to miss in the area... Osteria taSte about mile from Tre Stelle - in a 1930's school building. Look for the report cards on the wall on the ground floor. In the hills of Guarene, you'll find the fabulous Io e Luna. Chef Davide Odore is most welcoming and creates magnificent dishes. Have lunch of the terrace overlooking the beautiful countryside, uncork a bottle of Arneis.
