I eat a lot of chicken , beef, turkey, steak etc I eat a lot of vegetables and pretty much it’s not as bad as people make it seem as long as I don’t cook with butter on The grill and I have tk avoid all cheese and dairy products etc.
Does anybody have any tips to communicate this with restaurants at all because i rather air on the side of caution
And not eat out at all because I can’t have cross confirmation etc and
Look online for cards that explain your food allergies, available in in many languages.
Besides the Italian translation cards mentioned, I’ll mention that I usually stop into the grocery stores and pick out some items for either a lunch or light dinner for part of my meals. There is a handy grocery store in downtown Stresa but not well marked. It’s Carrefour Market on Via Roma.
At my first hotel, I usually ask someone to write out my allergies and what I cannot eat as well as what I can eat. It is a little more personalized and I have only had a could minor reactions. I’m just prepared with my medications because there have sometimes been cross contamination. In Italy right now and they seem to be much more aware of allergies. Some restaurants even have an allergy index on the menu and list the allergens on each dish. I haven’t had an issue so far with communication. I as well supplement with items from the outdoor markets and supermarkets.
