Can anyone help? I believe I picked up a bedbug on my last hotel stay in Venice. When I got home I found what looked like a bedbug in my luggage and the bites appeared clustered like bedbugs. I had my house tented but still was getting bitten. I even had a bedbug dog check to see if I had any more that were there. It came up negative for "American" bedbugs. They said my bug looked like a bed bug but had longer legs? Are Italian bedbugs different and resistant to gas extermination? Does anyone have a clue?
I would see your doc and confirm that he/she think the bites are bed bugs and not scabies or something else that requires a different type of treatment. If they confirm the bites look like bed bugs- How long ago did you get home? It can take a couple of weeks to be symptomatic from the bites. Maybe you are just developing a reaction to the bites you got at the end of your trip? You also didn't mention if you got rid of your mattress. That is usually recommended with bed bugs.
I would think bed bugs are bed bugs, regardless of where they are from.
no they are not.
Since you've already taken some significant measures, the steps advised above sound like about the only options left.
My husband thought he had been bitten by bed bugs earlier this month on a trip. He reported this to the hotel and they had an expert come in and inspect the room. No bed bugs were found. But, this hotel allows dogs, and they felt he might have gotten flea bites?
could be the dreaded mutant NINJA bedbug!
