Is there a "must do" restaurant in Milan?

Will be in Milan middle of May and wondering what restaurants not to miss out on.

I wish I'd known about this place when I was in Milan. I'm talking about the Osteria del Treno. The link is to the English version, but in English it is not.

This is a quote from the description of the Season 1 program on Milan:

"Tucci finishes up his tour of Milan and Lombardy with a return to the city. But this time, rather than reveling in the young and the new, Tucci visits the Osteria del Treno. The Osteria’s Sala Liberty ballroom was built in 1898 as a meeting hall for the unionized rail workers who worked at the nearby Stazione Centrale. At Osteria del Treno’s Sala Liberty Tucci and his wife dine on veal shank, potatoes, and other Slow Food-approved Milanese dishes while they listen to traditional live music."

And this link will take you to information on all of the Season 1 Searching for Italy episodes.

Tried to get a table when they first opened for lunch but were turned away as we did not have a reservation. We had tried in advance but never received a confirmation from the restaurant.

Lo, I’m so excited to hear this. I booked this restaurant per some other suggestion, plus Settembrini 18 (which also is highly recommended). I was going to let my sons read about them and make the decision. But since ST has been there and it’s on his show, that’s a no brainer.

OP, check outSettembrini 18, too,
