My son is going to college in Aix,he is thinking of taking his girlfriend to Palermo for a few days.
He asked me for some suggestions of where to stay. I was on a ricksteves tour there and we stayed at the Ambascitcori(?).
So that might be on the high price for his budget.
If anyone has some recommendations on places that are decent and maybe a little more budget than where I stayed, and easily walkable to the main parts of Palermo.
Thanks,
Danabob
for his budget....
Lot easier for folks to provide relevant suggestions when 'budget' is expressed in a numeric manner.
Relatively speaking, Palermo is pretty inexpensive to begin with.
We stayed at this BnB. I thought it was well priced, with a great breakfast and location. It also had the most amazing terrace with views over the city. I'd go back there in a heartbeat

We stayed at Palazzo Pantaleo prior to moving to the RS hotel for the tour in April of this year. I’d recommend it. It isn’t a big, fancy hotel though so I suppose it depends on taste. I also liked the area of town it was in much better than the Hotel Ambasciatori (sp?). It was easy to reach from airport and easy to walk to sights. Breakfasts were very good.
This past March I stayed B&B Bagnasco 18. There were three of us and we had two very reasonably priced double rooms with breakfast included. Lots of restaurants, pizzerías, gelatto shops, stores and banks in this area, Building has an elevator and B&B has an outdoor inner courtyard. It is located between Teatro Massimo and Teatro Politeama Garibaldi. Easy walk to main tourist sites. I have stayed in this area on three different trips to Palermo as I find it very convenient and well priced.
