I love Hotel Lancelot in Rome

A big thumbs up for the Hotel Lancelot in Rome, recommended on this forum.
I would absolutely be willing to stay there again.

Btw the Rick Steves “week in Rome” tour was at the hotel when I was as there. The attendees were lovely. It was obvious that the male guide was knowledgeable, helpful, appropriate, professional.
Based on this, I bet the RS tours are awesome!

Thanks for the camaraderie of this forum

Nice to read this as I will be staying there this winter on Rick’s Rome tour. Can you tell me if they provide soap, shampoo and wash cloths? I have learned these aren’t a given. Thanks!

My husband, adult son and I are staying at the Hotel Lancelot Dec. 25-29th. It's nice to see your positive review. We're hoping to have dinner there on Christmas since we have no idea what will be open then. I've read that their dinners are quite nice. I emailed the HL to inquire about dinner and received an immediate response from the owner! At least eight people have to reserve, so we'll see. . . I'm sure she will be able to help with other restaurants, though.

We stayed there with the RS Best of Rome tour and loved it! The family that runs it are so charming and helpful. The one dinner we had there was very good. We decompressed in the little bar almost every night. Funny story: my wife enjoys a bath. We called ahead and they accommodated this. The tub was slippery however and there was no mat. We asked at the front desk and they seemed puzzled. But, when we returned from our sightseeing the tub had been outfitted with several large daisy appliqués which had traction. Now, getting your feet on them was a bit like a game of Twister, but it did the trick. We had lots of laughs and no falls!

No washcloth but I am sure you could ask for an extra face towel. Yes to shampoo, conditioner, soap for shower

I stayed there solo in April 2023–lovely hotel, excellent staff and the breakfast was great. I knew ahead of time that there was no refrigerator or coffee maker and have since decided that’s a dealbreaker going forward. Loved the neighborhood, close to restaurants and transit but not in the thick of it—returning every night to a peaceful and pleasant hotel was exactly what I needed.

Good to know about no fridge, that is also a deal breaker for me.

Normally, I don't comment on hotels, but I'll make an exception here.

I, too, love the Hotel Lancelot in Rome. I stayed there in September 2022 as part of a Rick Steves seven-day Rome tour. Of the probably 75 hotels, B&Bs and hostels I've stayed in over 15 trips to Europe dating to 1993, the Lancelot is in my top 5.

The Lancelot is like a European hotel of yore: The management and staff are genuinely like family, the atmosphere is relaxed and homey, the bar and dining room are comfortable and the patio in back is a hidden gem.

I have a fun memory: The closed driveway in front of the hotel has an old Fiat on display as a kind of attraction. I'm 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and the old Fiat looks like a Matchbox car. Somehow I managed to squeeze into it and have a photo of me snapped. I look like Fred Flintstone hanging out of his stone age car. It's one of my favorite photos ever.
