My husband and I have a flight leaving from Marco Polo Airport at 8:50 am for Heathrow this month. What is the best way to get to the Marco Polo Airport from the area near the Venice train station? How early should we get there in the morning? TIA!

All of the taxicabs and the buses to the airport operate out of the Piazzale Roma (plaza) which is just west of the train station over a big arch bridge.
The three of us took the bus to the airport 3 weeks ago from there. If I was on a tight time frame, I'd be taking a taxi. 2 1/2 hours before your flight should be sufficient to leave the island. It's not too terribly busy of an airport at that time of day.

It’s a 20 minute bus trip….so allowing for the two hour recommendation for check in you should get the 6.20 Atvo bus which gets you to the airport at 6.40. Check the omio.com website for info about this shuttle bus. Cost is shown as being €8 on website.

Definitely try the bus first. Quick, easy, reliable, and cheap. Check their schedule to see if it works for you.
