How hot in Siena end of July

I am rethinking my trip to Italy at the end of July and considering heading up to Switzerland instead. How hot will Siena be at the end of July? Thanks for any input.

Well, it can be really hot and crowded, or it can be pleasant and crowded.... If hot weather is really a problem for you I would look at Switzerland as no one can know exactly what the weather will be... only probabilities!

It would be pretty warm. If you went to Switzerland, you could stay cooler but Siena should be do-able.

You can go to a source like weather-and-climate.com and get average historic data but that's all it is. The actual temperature will reliably be the average +/- 20 deg. For example I was in London in Sept. of 2013 when it was 84 as opposed to the historic 65. Comparing Switzerland to Sienna, the temperature will be cooler, the scenery much more spectacular, the food better and the prices much higher.

A Swiss palate, obviously... :)

I was not in Siena but am assuming that Florence is similar. And believe it or not, I found the Tuscan food 'heavier' than Swiss cuisine in Lucerne, where we even found a salad bar, for gosh sakes! But we did not go for the sausages, schnitzels and other German-based entrees that would have upped the ante for sure!

There are plenty of bars where you could
eat savory salads in Florence and in Sienna.
Tuscan cuisine is not uniform and may be very different from one place to another.
