We are ending a tour at Milan this summer and looking for a last night stay. We will have the day to see the Duomo and a little more before a good night rest and train to Malpenza airport. Looking for a Rick Steve kinda place, not the most extravagant but nice and more cozy.

I've stayed twice at the Hotel Gran Duca di York which is about a 5-minute walk from the Duomo. The staff is really nice, breakfast is lovely (although you might not have time for that in the AM??) and location was excellent for me. The staff can call you a taxi to the Cadorna station for the Malpensa Express.

I've stayed at 3 different Milan hotels within a few blocks of the Duomo. The Gran Duca Di York is definitely the best value for money. Comfortable without being splashy.
