Hotels In Venice

Recommendations on hotels in Venice? Have 2 nights before my Village Italy Tour. Appreciate suggestions!

Hotel budget per night in euros? How many people are in your travel party?

Do you know what hotel your tour uses? Would you prefer to stay close to it, or would you prefer to experience a different Venice neighborhood?

acraven, the tour doesn't stay in Venice; it starts in Padova. Many folks who take the tour opt to spend a few days in Venice pre-tour.

Angela, I would suggest you spend the 2 nights before the tour in Padova. There's a lot to see there. We did that when we took the tour, arriving on the Friday before the tour began on Monday. We didn't even come close to running out of things to do and see!

Although, if your heart's set on Venice, we love the Al Ponte Mocenigo, an easy vaporetto ride from the train station. Close to transportation and good restaurants. And the staff at the Mocenigo is great!

I just did this tour, I stayed at Hotel Principe, it's very close to the train station, so it made it easy to get to Padua from Venice. It was a comfortable hotel and I found it easy to walk everywhere from there. Vaporetto stations are near by and it's easy to take a bus from the airport to Piazzle Roma and walk to the hotel.

I agree with Jane's advice tips:

  • Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo is a terrific hotel choice for its location, customer service, Venetian adorned rooms, and breakfast courtyard.

  • Consider spending the two nights before your tour in Padua. Your hotel fare will be less expensive, and there are many worthwhile things to do. We stayed at the Hotel Grand'Italia: the city tram and train and bus stations are within a short walking distance.

My pro tip: If you choose to see Giotto's exquisite frescoes, book the Giotto sotto le stelle ticket package for back-to-back 20 minute sessions.
