We will be spending 2 nights in Modena in July. Any recommendations of hotels( moderately priced up to $300/night) or restaurants?
Last May, we stayed for two nights in Modena at the Domus Tua. It is listed as a bed and breakfast on booking.com but it is a large apartment right in the historic center (200 ft from Piazza Grande) which you have all to yourself. We paid about $260. a night but it was well worth it. The pictures don't do it justice. It is a beautiful apartment in a perfect location. We had a car and the owner (who lives in another apartment in the same building) met us and showed us where to park. He also took care of the notifications to the authorities for driving into the ZTL. We walked everywhere. The owner was very nice, very helpful, spoke fluent English and politely put up with my not even close to fluent Italian. Breakfast was provided downstairs at a cafe.
mmk, what did you think of Modena?
wcsalewski, I also am looking and found this list: https://www.tastebologna.net/blog/best-hotel-modena
Thanks for the link. I looked at the Best Western, but somehow I have trouble booking a North American hotel in Italy. It's so hard to choose. We will be in Modena in July so would love to have air conditioning.
