Hotel Virgilio in Orvieto

I'm curious if others have run into this. I'm planning to book a room with them for this July, but rather than using a booking type Web site or offering that on their own site, they send a booking form which must be completed and returned. Have others here booked with them using this emailed form?

That is good old school; you are getting an authentic mom and pop family run hotel.

They are also on booking.com with free cancellation within 5 days. Makes it much easier to book and also changes can be made with booking.com. I never had any issues any places I booked...going on 10 years of using them. Looks like July dates are filling up.
In the rare occasion where I used a form as you mentioned it was more cumbersome than booking.com...

Simon,
Yes, it appears that some hotels use this option.

I enjoyed my stay in Hotel Virgilio last October. The hotel is conveniently located in Piazza del Duomo, right next to the cathedral.
You can take bus “A” once you get off the funicular and it will drop you off at this Piazza.

Make sure you eat the delicious gelato a few doors down from the hotel.

Have a wonderful trip!

Edited to add...
BTW, I usually book directly in the hotel’s website.

Please note: If you stay at Hotel Virgilio, you will be asked to pay your total bill when you check-in.

Many thanks for the helpful replies. I've already returned their form and had the corresponding confirmation.

Looking forward to this.

Cheers,
Simon.

Simon,

If you have time, do consider taking the underground tour; I thought it was very interesting.
You can get tickets next to the TI office also located on Piazza del Duomo.

Even if you don’t take this tour, do consider walking toward the wall of the city for amazing views of the valley below. You can do this by walking straight to the right, as you face the cathedral, past a small parking lot.

Enjoy!
