Flying into Palermo May 3, on our own until meeting a bike tour May 5 at Palm Beach hotel (Cinisi). Palm Beach hotel doesn't have any rooms available May 3-4, so we'd like to book something nearby. Any recommendations, maybe one with an airport shuttle? Thanks!

I stayed at a hotel in Palermo that was about a 5-7 minute walk from the train station. From there, bus or train to the airport. Would that work for you? Gives you time to see Palermo.

I'm with Chani; there are nice, affordable hotels in easy walking distance from the Palermo train station, and easy bus service between the train station and the airport.
We've stayed at the Hotel Ambasciatori on Via Roma several times, and love it. Inexpensive, great rooftop bar/terrace/restaurant/breakfast room, and great staff.

I'd hate to be stuck out by the airport for 2 days, so I agree with staying in town.

My friend went back the next year, and said they due to their having a baby, they no longer pick you up at the airport, but can arrange a taxi. He took the airport bus, and they are a short walk from the stop. He also had a great stay this second time.
