Gianni Saini must be the hardest working man in the hospitality business! He's at the front desk at all hours, he serves you your breakfast, he arranges your tours and buys your tickets, he makes your lunch and dinner reservations (getting you in at otherwise fully-booked restaurants), he books your taxi, and he comes to see you off when the taxi picks you up a block away from the hotel (which is in a pedestrian-only zone a block off the main drag, and a block away from the lake) early in the morning! I've never experienced better service anywhere.
This small hotel has an elevator, unlike many in Italy, and is clean and well-appointed. It's conveniently located in Stresa's old pedestrian district, and just a short walk from the ferry dock. We were in room 311, if I recall correctly, on the front of the building, and the only downside was that voices from the narrow, cobblestoned street carried up to our windows quite well. We'd happily stay there again.
