Hello, recommendations for mid-price hotels in Florence for September travel? We were booked in early 2020 just as Covid hit, but the hotel we had reservations is no longer in business. Help would be appreciated.
you have this posted in the Italy REVIEW section - this is a place for you to give us a review of a place you've been. You'll have much better luck getting answers if you re-post this under 'Destination Q&A" under the Italy section/tab.
You can also do a SEARCH for this in the search bar at the top - Florence is mentioned often on these forums. The Rick Steves Florence Pocket guide book also has many recommendations.
We stayed at the Hotel Paris in central Florence for 3 nights in Sept 2019. The location is excellent between the Duomo and Piazza Santa Maria Novella and convenient to the S.M. Novella train station. Plenty of dining options in the area. Our room was large with a firm bed, although the room and property were a bit dated and worn down. The A/C was very cold. The breakfast included was very good and well run. I would prefer something like the Grand Hotel Minerva, the Sofitel, or something even closer to the Ponte Vecchio, but there the costs become larger.
Take a look at Hotel J & J, an historic building in Santa Croce area. We did not want to be too near the Duomo area with it’s crowds.
A number of years ago we stayed at Hotel Silla.
Located conveniently in the Oltrano along the Arno River. The hotel has a lovely terrace with a view of the Arno. Comfortable rooms & wonderful breakfast. September is a lovely month in Florence. We were on a culinary tour & enjoyed the restaurants in the area. https://www.hotelsilla.it/
I just spent a week at Hotel Sina villa Medici in Florence. A lovely hotel, a short walk to train station, easy walk to all parts of the city. Nice breakfast at hotel. Small but beautiful outdoor pool and patio area off the bar. The best concierge service I have ever had any where! I recommend Le Volte for the best Steak Florentine but you will need reservations.
Just spent 3 days at The Frame Hotel. Wonderful location and staff!
Just FYI…You might want to look at Air bnbs - Just booked a fabulous Airbnb apt for 10 days in Florence in August. It is halfway between the train station and the Duomo.
