Hotel question re Rome

We have friends who have booked at the Ranieri in Rome. We have loads of of points with IHG, Marriott which are combining and also with American Express and Chase. We realize Ranieri is not a costly hotel, but we would like to be as close to them as possible using points. I do not believe the Ranieri accepts points. Does anyone know the hotel closest to it that accepts points. The Ranieri is in the vicinity of the Borghese Gardens and the Hard Rock Cafe. The address is Via Vente Septembre 43 zip in Rome is 00187. Would appreciate all guidance to a chain hotel. Otherwise we can stay in an upscale hotel and taxi to meet them wherever..

The Westin Excelsior Rome is a couple of blocks from the Hard Rock Café, short walk to the Ranieri. Westin is a beautiful hotel, the neighborhood is great for just wandering around, a couple of GREAT neighborhood restaurants, and some shops. There is a Marriott a couple of blocks farther away. I think those are the two closest that will accept points.

First, you should move this question to the proper section, Italy in the Destination Q&A. You are in the section for giving reviews of hotels. Second, ask Marriott. I have no idea which hotels that would accept Marriott points. Generally the big, US chain hotels are not located in the downtown area.

Want to thank you both for your reply and suggestion. I am unfamiliar with this website but will look around and see where we can post it. The Westin would be fine. I will wait a bit for other suggestions and then book there. I did ask Marriott but they could not tell me which Marriott was which. Do you happen to know the street? or what the neighborhood is called? I even have a free day at the Marriott so that would be perfect. Thank you all so much.

If you go to the Marriott App and put in your dates, Rome, and that you want to use points, it will show the hotels that you can use points for your trip and then you can click on the hotel to see the location. Marriott properities in Rome include Courtyard, Marriott, and Autograph hotels. You can then book those trips on the app.

There is a Marriott near the Borghese. I was looking myself to use points. It does take a lot for one night. I believe category 7. Not sure how long you are going? There are not many Marriott options in Rome.

cannot get on Marriott app today...they are merging with IHG. Will have to attend to this. Also the site does not make it at all clear how far and where these are in relationship to the Ranieri. I sent to another chain via email and am waiting for an answer back.
thanks you.

Do you know if this is anywhere near the Ranieri which is in via septembre. We would like to be near our friends but why pay cash FOR a lesser hotel when we can use points for a better hotel.

You can plug both locations into Google Maps. It is about a 12 to 15 minute walk between the two.

We’ve stayed at the Marriott Grand Flora. It’s a beautiful hotel right by Borghese Gardens. The breakfast buffet is worth the stay! The breakfast room is on the top floor with views of the dome st St. Peter’s. Plenty of smoked salmon at the buffet.
