As hotel Como has no availability when we travel to Syracuse, we are considering hotel Posta on Ortigia Island. Has anyone stayed there before ? Love to hear about it !
You will get a much broader base of reviews if you just Google the hotel and pull up, say Booking.com reviews (or Tripadvisor, etc.). The below is based on > 700 reviews.

We stayed here two years ago and it was just fine for us. Our room was nice and the location is good, near the market and the famous sandwich man!
@ Marsh Thank you for your comment on this hotel. We've been doing a lot of "research" on hotels in Ortigia and find most of them rather expensive. The price is good of hotel Posta and the location is OK. Think we found our hotel !
For what it's worth, I stayed a bit outside Ortigia but within 5-7 minutes walk at a lovely, modern, bright, and well-priced hotel. I chose it because it was an easy walk from the bus station and it was in a more local area without the tourist masses. The hotel was called the Grande Albergo Alfeo: http://www.booking.com/Share-KfmO87F
I stayed in Ortigia as well, but didn't enjoy it as much (too noisy where I was and too touristy).
Stayed there this summer. It is in a good location and the price is very good for being on Ortigia. The hotel was basic room and breakfast, but clean quiet and the people working were all very nice. I would stay there again.
We loved staying on Ortigia and did not have crowds or find it touristy in October. We walked over the bridges into Siracusa too, also took at 5€ a day little red bus to the Greek Theater and Archeological Museum.
We rented an apartment and shopped in the daily market.
We stayed at the Hotel Posta this past May and enjoyed it. It is not fancy but it was reasonably priced for the area, clean ,convenient for us and relatively quiet. It was easy to drive up to , unload our bags and then park it the Talete parking lot nearby. While not in the very heart of Ortigia we were able to walk there in short order. We would stay there again.
