Hotel Piazza Bellini: A lovely oasis in Naples

After our recent Best of South Italy tour which ended in Naples, we moved from the tour hotel to the Hotel Piazza Bellini, Via Santa Maria di Constantinopoli 101. What a lovely place this was!

The hotel is very modern, but in a 16th century palazzo. The staff, which seems to consist almost excusively of beautiful young people, is friendly and helpful. We knew we'd be tired after our tour, so we treated ourselves to a terrace room at €162.50 per night. A standard double was €137.50. The room was big and airy, with one window opening onto the hotel's courtyard, and a door leading to our private terrace with a great view.

The hotel does have an elevator and air conditioning, as well as 24-hour service at the front desk. There's a large courtyard where you can have breakfast (there are also places inside to eat, should you prefer,) and a bar is open off the courtyard until 10:00 p.m. If you order a drink, you also get some crunchy snacks, as well. There is also a menu with light food items, but we didn't try those.

In addition to the courtyard, there are a number of other public spaces, including at least one with a small lending library. Our room was on the 5th floor, and we had a huge public area available to us there, as well.

The hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the archaeology museum, and is almost directly across the street from Piazza Bellini, with several places to eat. It's also in easy walking distance from 2 metro stops and a bus stop.

The best thing about the hotel for us was, it was quiet! It was a lovely place to withdraw to after spending time in the bustling confusion and noise that define Naples.

We very much enjoyed this hotel, and would be glad to stay there again.

Our original Italy itinerary for our April 2022 trip included a two night stay at the Piazza Bellini. When I shortened our trip by a week, we did the Museum of Archeology as a day trip from Pompei instead of staying in Naples.

Thanks for the validation of my cancelled plans!

I loved it too--that terrace was so worth it. We were even treated to an impromptu fireworks show. The great breakfast was a major plus.

We loved Piazza Bellini as well! Stayed only 1 night, but it was a lovely oasis and an easy walk to the Museum of Archeology and out to dinner at night . Would definitely stay here again if we return to Naples!

We checked into this hotel today. Maybe it’s just the room we have —6th floor terrace—but this place is tired. Tub doesn’t look particularly clean and is cracked in several places. I love the energy-saving key that controls the lights, but that also means the fridge doesn’t keep water chilled. Also, if you turn on the A/C it drips water constantly on the floor. I called to the front desk, but no one answered. I left a message as instructed, but no one has called back. I hate to leave the floor wet, but it’s too humid to go without AC tonight. This may have been a nice place in the past, but it’s due for a renovation in my opinion. The view beyond the outside AC units and electrical panel is nice, though.

ReReinDC, I'm sorry you're having problems.

I think they are in the process of renovating; everything in our room seemed brand new, including the bathroom fixtures.

Our only problem with the a/c was the energy saving feature; if we opened the door to the terrace at night (me, to escape the a/c while Stan was asleep,) the a/c shut off. Even if I closed the terrace door, the a/c had to be restarted by hand, and he didn't know how to do that, especially when groggy!

Keep trying with the desk. We found them very friendly.
