Hotel: one day in Rome before flying home

We will be in Orvieto from October 17-24 and then drive to Rome on October 24 (private driver) before flying home on October 25. Best neighborhood to stay in for an afternoon of walking around? We have been to Rome before so we just want to wander a bit and find a decent place for dinner. We are looking for a hotel that is moderately priced (<$200), can accommodate three adults in one room (ideally three beds), has an elevator and walk-in shower (mobility limited senior), and we prefer not to stay at the airport. Our Italian tour guide booked us a room at the Hotel Central 3 but the reviews are not good, so I booked CityLife Rome as a backup plan. Has anyone stayed there? Any other recommendations? I have been on Booking.com but find it a bit overwhelming as I'm not quite sure which neighborhood(s) to choose to narrow the search.

Presumably you do not have a crack o dawn flight and plan to take a cab to the airport?

On booking.com it is fairly easy to adjust the rate to $200, scroll down to 'Room amenities' and select 'upper floors have elevator' and 'walk in shower'........ then read the hotel descriptions for 'beds' some have just two beds, many have a 3 bed configuration i.e., 2 twins and a double/queen

The 2 hotels you mention are in what I suspect would be labeled "Termini" area.

Searching "Rome Centro" saw 50+ hotels under $200 with elevator and walk in shower. ( 80+ when searching "Termini")

Thank you, Joe! Yes, correct our flight is at 10 am and we plan to reserve a taxi for the ride to the airport in the morning. I have done exactly as you suggested on Booking.com (that's how I found CityLife) and was a bit overwhelmed by all the choices since I was not sure what neighborhood would best meet our needs.

We like to stay near Palazzo Navona and the Pantheon. Wonderful area to walk around. Near antiquities, Tiber River where you walk over bridge to Travestere.
You will be getting up quite early to go to FCO for a 10am flight. We usually drop our rental car off at FCO and stay at the Hilton FCO for morning flights.
