Piecing together a new trip to Italy and am considering Hotel Lancelot in Rome. I don't see any recent reviews, so am asking if anyone has stayed there more recently and impressions of the hotel. We'll likely stay five nights before moving to our next destination in Spello.
I know people who have stayed there, and I believe some of Rick's tours have stayed there in the past. Not sure nowadays. We stayed at Hotel Regno which is more centrally located.
My RS tour stayed there in 2017, it’s a wonderful hotel. I would stay there again!
We stayed there in 2019 with the RS Best of Rome tour. It’s a nice family run hotel. They have a decent breakfast room and also serve dinner some nights, handy if you don’t feel like going out. But, there are good restaurants nearby. You are a stones throw from the Coliseum and Roman Forum. We have sent friends there recently and got very positive feedback.
I stayed at The Lancelot end of Feb./20 and I’m going back this April / 22. Highly recommend it!
We have staying in this hotel twice. Great hotel, close to many mom and pop eating places, close to metro at the coliseum. Breakfast is really good. We were treated well and the beds were comfortable.
We also stayed at Lancelot as part of the Rick Steves Best of Rome tour (11/2019). I thought it was a great little hotel. Great management and staff, good location. Really nice breakfast spread. My only gripe would be no refrigerator or kettle in the room, which is somewhat typical of hotels in Italy.
Thanks to everyone for their replies!
We are booked on the Best of Rome tour this September (2022) and this is our hotel for the duration.
We as well stayed there while on a RS tour (2017). It was fine. We had a smallish room, but that's not a big deal. Very close to the Colosseum. Of the 3 hotels on that tour (V, F and R) it was the least remarkable, but that didn't stop us from loving Roma.
