Hi Folks,
I have booked Hotel Rialto; however, the comments reflect poor breakfast and noise. Did any one try it before or have other recommendations. Actually, we want a hotel that is overlooking the Grand Canal with reasonable price.
Thanks
Going to Venice during Carnival (a street party, peak travel time) hoping to find a reasonable priced quiet hotel around the most touristy areas prone to human traffic jams is not realistic. How much a night is a reasonably priced hotel by the Rialto Bridge during Carnival based on your budget? Based on your budget someone could better tell you your options. I went to Venice during carnival about 20 years ago just as a day trip. And what are you hoping breakfast at hotel to look like, Continental or American style?
Thank for your reply. My budget is up to 200 Euro per night. The continental breakfast is what we aim. However , i am afraid that the hotel is that priced due to its location only (200€ per night), it has a low score on value for money (7.8).
I haven't stayed here yet, but have reservations for next fall. On Grand Canal with breakfast room that is a balcony overlooking the canal. Reasonable price and good reviews.
After one stay on the Grand Canal we now avoid it as we prefer a quiet location. It is the main thoroughfare so you have to expect noise and crowds.
Going during Carnival only increases the possibility of noise. In an earlier post you mentioned bringing a young child along. Is that still the plan? I wonder if it’s wise to take a young child into the Carnival crowds.
Try B and B Vista sul Canale Grande. It is in Santa Croce, a bit east of the Scalzi Bridge, so a quieter area than the Rialto Bridge. They one have 3 or 4 rooms and only 1 or 2 of those have a Grand Canal view. It gets great reviews on TripAdvisor.
I planned to go there in the summer with my wife, but the assessment is not impressive...
