Hotel in Milan for one night

We are flying into Milan the day before our Best of Venice, Florence & Rome in 10 Days tour starts in September. Looking for recommendations for best location and suggestion for a reasonably priced hotel for one night. We'd like to see a bit of what Milan has to offer.

Hotel Berna is popular with many here on the forum. I stayed at Hotel Garda across the street from Hotel Berna.
Both hotels are very close to the train station, Milano Centrale, and there are a couple of Metro stops nearby. You can also get around via trams.

We stayed at the Hotel Spadari Al Duomo which is recommended in the RS Italy guide book. It is very close to the cathedral and all the action of the Piazza del Duomo, yet on a quiet side street. The breakfast was exceptional, they had coffee in the room, and the a/c was strong. Along with being in a great location, it ticked all of the boxes for us.

another strong vote for Hotel Spaderi...I was there recently and was very impressed with the staff and Hotel along with a great location. I'd also encourage you to consider a guided tour of Milan via BellaMilano tours...2 wonderful women that will make your expereince in Milan exceptional.
Really enjoyed Milan and it's people...more to see and do than one might think! Enjoy Milan and your RS Tour.

Hello, I am a newbie here on the forum but I can personally relate to your question. We are scheduled for the Best of Venice, Florence, Rome tour at the end of September and are flying home fom Milan. For my family staying at the airport Sheraton was the best choice because we have early flights back to US. I was able to book king non smoking room for just under $200. for one night. This may work for you depending on how late you arrive. Good luck!

It sounds like you are arriving in Milan and have to be in Venice the next day. I would also suggest the Hotel Berna.

Not sure of your energy level the day you arrive in Milan though and how much you will feel like exploring Milan. An alternative would be to just take a train from Milan to Venice (2.5 hours) and spend the night in Venice. It will give you an extra day in Venice. Just an idea.

We just returned from Italy and spent one night, our first night, in Milan. We stayed at the Hotel Garda. It was clean and comfortable; the breakfast hit the spot. After a long flight and a slow process going through customs (not ridiculous, just a lot of travelers to process), and a roughly 1/2 hour train ride from Malpensa to Milano Centrale, it was a great relief to walk out of the train station and see the hotel. The hotel is not grand, but it is clean, comfortable and has air con available (it was getting warm in Italy when we left). They have a RS discount and may offer an additional discount if you pay in cash. Also, it may be worth mentioning as we did not know this when we arrived, as an "old time" Italian hotel, if you leave the hotel, you leave the key at the desk and retrieve it when you return. We had 2 different hotels that did this and it worked fine.
