Looking for Milan hotel for one night May 1, 2022 following Village Italy tour. Any best kept secrets? Thanks.

I stayed in the Hotel Berna within walking distance of the Milano Centrale train station before my RS Best of Italy tour. Very reasonable price, clean and nice staff. They even emailed me on my birthday a few months after my stay there!

Well it's apparently not a secret anymore cause I was going to suggest Hotel Berna also. Love that place.

I would have suggested the Berna, or its Dependence (like an annex across the street). Guess I'm not the first with that idea.

We stayed in the Hotel Lancaster in Milan following our Village Italy tour. It's in a quieter part of town, but may not suit if you're only staying one night. We stayed on about 4 nights, and loved every minute of it. if you have the time, I highly recommend spending more time in Milan.. I know it's not a favorite with Forum folk, but we loved it. Lots of museums, lots of lovely parks and walks.

The Lancaster was, as I recall, less expensive than the Berna and Garda, another hotel often recommended by RS readers, ranging from €69 to €99 per night, with a good breakfast. But again, if you're only staying one night, it probably wouldn't suit as well as a hotel near the station.

We enjoyed our stay at Antica Locanda Leonardo which is set in a garden. Quiet setting. A few minutes from Santa Maria fella Grazie and da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.”

Another vote for Hotel Antica Locanda. Stayed there for one night prior to the Best of Italy tour as we wanted to see da Vinci‘s The Last Supper. Perfect location, lovely garden and great breakfast.

We are all stayed in the Hotel Hampton Inn. Very clean and modern hotel. A real elegant feel. Rooms are very clean and modern. No options for smoking. Smoke free hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Internets a little slow and tv is lacking but overall a nice place to stay.

Having a heck of a time choosing my Milan hotel as well. Just there for one night, then train to Malpensa. Lots of suggestions for Berna, the photos don't make it look...great? Is that the best area to stay in?

I was one of the recommenders of the Berna when this was a new thread in June. What do you find undesirable about it, dantbarnes?

This was my original post, and thanks to the raving reviews, we have booked the Hotel Berna and are looking forward to it! Thanks, all.

Hello! I guess I'm a little concerned by the "annex building" rooms, which seem to be the ones available to me for my date. The location though, does seem pretty great, so I'm between this hotel Best Western Plus Hotel Galles and Hyatt all in the same area.

On one of my stays I was in the Annex. We loved it, my review may be somewhere on here but I don't have the time to find it (bedtime here) and it was several years ago.

My memory is the room was fine, plenty large, nice bathroom, comfy bed, and just across the street from the main hotel. Over there for a most excellent breakfast.

I don't remember anything to fault it. Easy walk to the station too, but not in a station sort of a neighbourhood.
