Hotel Europa in Florence

Miriam and Robert hosted us for 6 nights in November 2016. They are very friendly, accommodating, and informative, including about where to eat in Florence. Their own breakfasts, as other guests have noted, are ample, including cereal, eggs, a variety of pastries, juices, coffee, tea – exactly what an intrepid couple would ask for before a full day tour of the Renaissance city. The bedroom itself was large, clean, and very quiet, as it overlooks a lovely courtyard away from the busy street. The bed itself was very comfortable. The hotel is situated across the street from Lorenzo de Medici’s palazzo and only a block or so from the pedestrian-only streets of the city. We enjoyed very much the attentions of Miriam, Robert, and their staff. Their hotel is an ideal affordable basecamp for an exploration of Florence.

We found the hotel in Rick's "Florence & Tuscany 2017." It comes with a Rick Steves discount if you pay cash.

Thank you for the review, very useful. I will be going to Florence in March and thought of staying there. My main question was about whether I could eat the breakfast, because I must avoid both gluten and dairy. If they have eggs, I'll get by fine.
