Has anyone ever stayed at the Hotel Concordia on Via Roma in Palermo? Any comments to share would be greatly appreciated. I tried to book the Ambasciatori, where we stayed on a previous visit and loved (especially the views from the terrace), but could get only one of the 3 nights we need. Was told they have a group there, and the hotel is fully booked. Since I was booking directly by phone, I took the one night and got put on their waiting list in case an opening occurs for the other 2 nights, the hotel would contact me.
I'm wondering how hopeful I should be. Is the Ambasciatori a Rick Steves tour hotel?
I did book the Concordia for all 3 nights as a back up since its nearby. Don't really want to switch hotels for one night. All my bookings are with free cancellation.

Yes the Ambasciatori is the hotel we stayed at on the RS tour last November.

Thank you. I love the Ambasciatori. I stayed there with 2 friends in 2005, long before I knew it was (or became?) a Rick Steves tour hotel. Enzo, who I recently learned, still works there, was amazingly helpful, even retrieving my friend's camera lens cap from a lower roof section when she dropped it from the breakfast terrace. We stayed in touch for years after that.
Now that its a tour hotel, I could get only one night of the 3 that I wanted. The hotel clerk told me they have a group staying those dates. I wonder if its Rick's group!

We are on the RS Sicily tour in February 2019 and couldn't get into the Ambasciatori on our pre-tour dates - I contacted them directly by email. After hearing nothing back for several days I booked us into B&B delle Vittoria based on a mention here on the forum and reviews from different travel sites. The owner sent me a welcome email within 12 hours and also offered shuttle service from the airport at what I thought was a very reasonable rate. I feel good about booking there due to what I consider to be very fine customer service in our emails back and forth. I don't know anything about the Concordia but wanted to share my experience with you. Happy Travels!
