Help! Budget hotels in Milan?

Hello!

I'm looking for recommendations for hotels in Milan for about 120 euros per night for 2 people. I know this is a very low budget, but we're on a university student's budget!

Feeling a bit stressed as heading there in less than 2 months - any suggestions please? Would like the hotel to be safe, clean and relatively central.

Thank you!

If you haven't already done so, check booking.com. The reviews there are generally reliable, because you can't leave a review if you haven't stayed at the hotel. Booking.com has listings for apartments as well as for hotel rooms.

Take a look at the Lancaster. We stayed there a few years ago, and were pleased. The staff was great; the responded immediately when we had a problem, and got up early to make coffee for us when we had an early departure. The rooms were fine (we had to switch rooms, so we saw two of them) and a good breakfast is included.

I just pulled up the website and put in random dates. The rates were all over the place, but some were in your budget.

You may get lucky, but Milan's not a particularly cheap city, and most of the folks who post here don't go for the cheapest hotels. I do, but I've never spent the night in Milan, so I can't help you.

Milan is like NYC in the US - a big commercial center, with hotel prices to match. Plus you are going there in the very height of tourist season.

We are very cheap, but could do no better than $135/night (when Euro was on par with dollar). Today, it would be $145/night - Ibis Milano Centro - I'm kind of shocked as I checked it for July to find rooms at $122 or so.

We stayed at the Hotel Bagliori for 120 Euro/night a few weeks ago. That included breakfast. However we booked months ago - I noticed their prices were much higher if you were booking on shorter notice.

Thanks! We managed to save some money on accommodation in other parts of Italy, so might increase our budget a little bit and see if that helps.
