Has anyone stayed at Villa dei Gelsi in Verona?

We'll be in Verona for a few days in early Oct. and staying at Relais Villa dei Gelsi. The property is outside the city center and I'm wondering if anyone has stayed here and has information about the walk to/from the city center...how long, pleasant or lots of traffic? Or if the hotel offers reliable shuttle service. Yes, I've contacted the hotel and haven't heard from them yet, but I also wanted input from someone who actually stayed there. Any info appreciated. Thank you!

It looks wonderful.
However, it's location is in the hills above Verona - the walk down is probably about 30 mins but you'd need a taxi back.
We didn't go half way up, and it was too much.
Have a look at the guest reviews on Booking.com, sorting by "location".

Thank you, Lin. I finally heard back from the hotel and they do offer two taxi rides per day, so that should be just fine. They schedule it through a taxi company…hopefully there won’t be too many hiccups. I’ll also look at the reviews on Bookings under the “location” section specifically. Many thanks!

Update: We just returned from our trip and did stay at Villa dei Glesi. I wanted to post about it because it was absolutely wonderful. It is, as you noted above the historic city center and the walk down a (mostly) charming pedestrian pathway took us about 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. Even if you aren't up for the walk, the hotel provides free taxi service twice a day which would work well for going and coming back. The hotel is really very special, in an old villa that has been beautifully converted combining old and new. There is a beautiful and tranquil outdoor space with lounge chairs and a pool and an indoor space with a pool, hot tub and sauna. They rooms were very charming, and the bed was outrageously comfortable. They serve a beautiful, in-house prepared breakfast that is delicious and you can enjoy it in their lovely breakfast area or outside near the pool. The women who work and manage the property are also very kind and helpful. It's the kind of place that would be perfect to relax and unwind during a hectic travel schedule. I could have happily stayed and enjoyed just the property for several more days! Highly recommend!
